Maycie Gallagher

Dance Instructor

Maycie began dancing at the age of 3 years old at Mary-Ann’s School of Dance in New Port Richey. She performed in Calusa Elementary School’s music and theater productions and was also on the Calusa Dance Team. When she reached middle school, she made the River Ridge Dance Team and progressed to the River Ridge High School Team during all four high school years. In her senior year she became team captain and choreographed group dances for the team for pep rallies, football and basketball games, and for school showcases. During High School, Maycie shifted her focus to competitive dance and joined an Advanced Elite Competition Team where she competed for 4 years and was a captain her senior year. Well-versed in many genres, Maycie was also a member of Tap Sensation for 2 years, where she performed at Universal Studios and many community events. Maycie was voted best dancer by her competitive Elite Team members and instructors and voted Best Dancer in River Ridge High School’s Mock Audition Unit 4 years in a row. She received Judges Choice Award, Entertainment Award, and Artistic Dance Exchange Prodigy Award. She was invited by Omari Brown to perform at Artistic Dance Exchange Nationals Hip-Hop group and received Artistic Dance Exchange Outstanding Dancer Award. She has been a Joffrey Ballet School Scholarship Recipient and has consistently placed in competitive Overall awards and achieving highest adjudications for solo performances. Her dedication has found her placing at the top in Hip-hop, lyrical, tap, contemporary, and jazz for groups and solos, and she has received many judges’ awards for her entertaining and energetic performances. Maycie assisted classes since she was in middle school and spent most of her summers as a dance instructor for school and studio dance camps. She spent her senior year at Dance Extreme Academy not only competing and taking classes, but she also was an apprentice and taught her own classes during the regular season. Most recently, Maycie was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleader finalist and plans to audition again.  Her favorite genre of dance is Hop-Hop, but she loves all of them.
